The M850 GSM Community Telephone is a quick to set up mobile office that enables the retailing of not only telephone calls but also electronic vouchers based on a franchise (dealer) business model. This self contained GSM Community Telephone, remote controller and management system form a robust and secure communications system and allows franchisees (operators) to enjoy an immediate return on investment for a minimal start-up cost.
The M850 solution is ideal for two business models; the tele centre environment where up to ten units are being controlled by a single operator using a controller device or in a stand alone environment where the operator operates one or two phones without using a controller device. The M850 GSM Community Telephone has been designed to with stand harsh environmental conditions including high usage and dust and can be placed where there is GSM coverage especially in areas where there is little or no telephone access.
These units can be used at special events such as sports matches and concerts to sell airtime and with the M Pro Printer accessory; the unit can also print reports and dispensed voucher information. The M850 boasts a new hardware and software platform, which provides more processing power and addition storage capacity.
Easy to use, secure and flexible
Easy to use
The new user-friendly ergonomic design includes a new 64 x 132 pixel, full bitmap graphic display as well as an additional navigation button making the menus easily selectable. The new graphic display is also ideal advertising space. The M850 Community Telephone indicates time, date, network operator, battery charge and signal strength. A stub antenna and optional external high-gain antenna ensures signal quality. No operator set-up is required whilst the PC-driven management system allows the dealer full remote control over the operation of the telephone. The dealer can update all phone settings, including the purse, zone and tariff tables via a WindowsT interface. The M850 has separate owner and operator sales records to simplify bookkeeping and a digital hands-free speakerphone feature.
Secure
The telephone is locked to the SIM card and the network PIN for the SIM card is never provided to operator, making the SIM card useless when removed from the phone. The M850 is also dealer PIN protected ensuring that a dealer cannot operate a unit not been sold by the dealership. The management system allows the secure updating of the telephone purse and the telephone can be network locked or even locked to a base station.
Flexible
The M850 Community Telephone is programmed with detailed zone and rate tables enabling per unit or per second peak and off-peak billing in three time periods, accurate billing of international calls and single SMS updating for a fast unit/rate change. The controller uses a high capacity internal battery, ensuring operation during power failures and or black-outs, supports a receipt printer and controls up to ten telephones.
Mobile Management System
Due to Tellumat's vast experience in the payphone business, a good understanding of system requirements and user characteristics have contributed to the development of sophisticated management systems with user friendly interfaces. Continuous enhancement of the management systems improves customer experience, customer service and decreases the operating costs. Based on the architecture, the system can be customised to cater for specific customer requirements.
The mobile management system supporting the M850 Community Telephone is simple to install and easy to use. It allows multi-user access and is capable of managing 10 000+ payphone units with effortless configuration and maintenance of the payphone units. The management system supplies summary information on the payphone install base and has a powerful reporting engine.
The Electronic Voucher Dispensing management system allows the distributor the flexibility of choosing either a dispensing model based on a stock on demand request or preloading the M850 with a range of virtual vouchers or a combination of both. The system allows the operator to dispense a voucher to either the M850 screen, an attached printer or to send a voucher directly to a customer's mobile phone. Stock can be managed and new stock can be ordered via the system.
This intelligent management system provides the distributor with the information needed to run his business on a day-to-day basis.
