Encryption

Customers demand a high level of security when it comes to phone conversation, faxes, file transfer and data networking. This requirement is offered through the incorporation of encryption devices into the solution.

A number of alternatives are available:

1. Voice, Fax and File transfer - the Phoenix

The Phoenix is a powerful encryption solution for security within a telecommunications environment. Simple to operate, the Phoenix provides confidence to customers for secure telephone calls, sensitive faxes, and secure file transfers.

Product Description

The Phoenix is primarily built to meet the efficiency and functionality requirements of government customers.

Packaged in an ultra-modern case, the unit features a graphical LCD, remote user identification, and comprehensive menus. It also provides excellent voice reconstruction, with automatic fallback to compensate for noisy line conditions. It is compact, lightweight, and equipped with a built-in self-charging battery providing up to 45 minutes secure operation without mains power. The Phoenix offers complete portability providing secure communications whilst travelling, or in operational environments.

Encryption uses a 128 or 256-bit AES algorithm.

Alternatively, an indigenous algorithm can be installed to meet specific government requirements.

Key management is an asymmetric key exchange with optional PIN for enhanced security. Customers can program up to 12 separate keys to define their security environment. A full suite of network support tools is available to assist management of Phoenix secure networks.

2. Networking Security - CipherLANTM

The cipherLAN IP Encryptor uses the latest technology to provide layer 3 security over Data, Satellite and Radio Networks. Compatible with IPSec, and employing a browser-based management interface, the cipherLAN is easy to use and highly secure.

Product Description

cipherLAN is a standards based data encryptor that can be used to secure IP networks. It was been designed to be used with BGAN Satellite systems. cipherLAN is compatible with the IETF IPSec security specification and operates in tunnel mode. In tunnel mode the whole of the original IP packet is encapsulated into a new IP packet. Authentication using SHA-1 ensures that the contents of the packet have not been modified.

cipherLAN supports the AES algorithm with 128 or 256 bit keys. A custom facility can be provided for users to load their own algorithms into the unit.

cipherLAN supports up to 128 secure connections in a fully meshed network. Each individual secure connection can be configured to use either AES or the custom algorithm. This enables a user to use their own algorithm to secure their data while at the same time enable a secure connection to another organisation using AES.

cipherLAN can be configured for fully automated key management using the Internet Key Exchange (IKE) protocol and X.509 certificates for authentication. Session keys are updated periodically.

cipherLAN also supports manual key loading of the session keys. The session keys are loaded into the encryptor from a USB memory module. The session keys can be manually selected for each connection or the secured connection can be configured to update at a specified time.

cipherLAN connects to the local and remote network via 10/100 RJ45 connectors with full duplex operation up to 40Mbps with the addition of a hardware crypto accelerator plug in module.

cipherLAN can be securely remotely managed using a standard web browser over a secure TLS trusted path.
