Tactical Communication and Identification Systems
Tellumat provides internationally competitive communication and identification products and systems; and support services to defence system suppliers and users. Our processes include product development, industrialisation, manufacture, support, project management and quality assurance. Electronic assembly is performed to the IPC-J-STD-001B Class 3 workmanship requirements.
We design, manufacture, supply and support Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) transponders and integrated IFF interrogator/transponder systems for use on fighter and trainer aircraft, helicopters, naval ships and submarines and air defence systems. The IFF transponders are capable of supporting civilian reply modes, including Mode S.
Tellumat is the prime contractor to the South African National Defence Force for a national secure mode incorporating a key management system and cryptographic computers for IFF interrogators and transponders.
Tellumat also provides tactical communication systems such as real-time analog and digital data links for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), aircraft, helicopter and terrestrial applications.
We designed, manufactured and currently support the long-range analog data, video and audio link for the Kentron Seeker II UAV.
We have also developed a new generation hybrid link, with a direct sequenced spread spectrum (DSSS) uplink and encrypted low latency high resolution data/video downlink. The launch customer for this link is ATE who have integrated it into their Vulture unmanned aerial observation system (UAOS).
