Tellumat specialises in long-range mobile air defence radar systems. Our Defence Division enjoys a strong association with BAE in respect of a variety of air defence and naval radar systems. It has completed the development of six significant upgrades to the South African Air Force’s (SAAF) AR3D radar systems originally supplied by Plessey; an upgrade which has been successfully applied to export markets.

An example of the technology produced by Tellumat engineers was first utilised by the US Airforce during the Mozambique flood rescue mission in 2000.

We use a logistics engineering approach to supporting these radar systems, adding value by undertaking all installation, flight trials and after sales support. Design and development are undertaken by our Cape based engineering team, while a depot facility in Pretoria provides 24/7 support.
